Delivery Assurance

Whether responsible for an overall portfolio, running a programme with multiple projects, or the sponsor of a major project, independent delivery assurance is a key tool in ensuring projects and programmes deliver agreed business requirements and benefits to acceptable tolerances of scope, time, cost, quality and risk.

ASE's Approach

ASE have developed a unique Delivery Assurance process which is run by a highly experienced ASE Consultant and supported by the ASE Health Check Toolkit. This Toolkit consists of over 300 questions, which are tailored to the project in question and have been designed to ensure that projects of any size, level of complexity, delivery stage, and delivery methodology can be assured consistently and quantitatively.

Health Check Toolkit Key Topic Areas:

Health Check Toolkit

The overall duration and approach of the Health Check can be adapted but critically the approach is designed to be as un-invasive as possible and flexible to ensure all key materials and views are integrated into the assessment.  The outputs are designed to ensure key positives and issues are clearly stated and evidenced, and to ensure pragmatic and realistic recommendations are made that will ensure that business needs are met and value-for money of project delivery assured.

Key Benefits

  • Highly flexible approach and toolkit which is targeted to the specific project/programme or portfolio assessment needs
  • The approach is consistent and quantitative/evidence based – allowing for comparison of results between projects in a portfolio, or for a project to be assessed multiple times and improvement tracked
  • The approach can be used ad-hoc to spot check key projects, or integrated into other assurance processes e.g. gates – including as a pre-check for OGC reviews.
  • The Health Check provides outstanding value for money - the use of the in-house toolkit integrates the knowledge and experience of many man hours of ASE consultants experience into the assessment; ensuring key delivery issues will be found, if present, and that resultant recommendations will ensure the project delivers the business benefits realistically to agreed tolerances.
  • The service has been proven; both in public and private industries, across large scale programmes and smaller key projects, at multiple stages in the project lifecycle, and both in an ad-hoc and gate style application
